Installing Bathroom Wall Exhaust Fans
An exhaust fan is a necessary addition in any bathroom because it is responsible for venting warm air and steam out of this space. This type of device is usually affixed on ceilings but can be placed on the wall as well. In order for it to be affixed properly, it requires a wall that is on the exterior part of the house.
When setting up an exhaust fan, start by using a stud finder to locate studs in the wall. Mark their location using a pencil. Next, place the interior fan template on the wall and trace around it to make an outline.
Once that is done, cut around the outline with a drywall saw. This will enable you to take a piece of drywall and set it aside. Then, place the housing of the fan on the inside of the outer wall and draw a second outline around the inner duct.
Proceed outside and place the exterior template over some previously drilled holes. Trace another outline on the exterior and follow the steps for removing a drywall. Finally, connect the power supply for the fan.
